Blackmagic Design’s Hyperdeck Studio HD Plus is a compact video file recorder with an extended feature set. With h.264, ProRes, and DNx formats available for recording, you can choose between file size and fidelity to match your postproduction workflow. Two high speed UHS-II SD Card slots allow extended roll-over recording on the front, or choose to record to a high capacity drive using the rear USB-C port. Files can be quickly dumped from the SD Cards with the included UHS-II to USB-C high speed dock, or clips can be pulled off the unit over network using FTP.

Hybrid events can use the Hyperdeck Studio HD Plus for double duty, recording on SD Card while capturing the video by USB-C as a 1080p webcam input to a video call. Quickly monitor the audio using the front panel speaker, or listen carefully via the front panel headphone jack. The SDI Monitoring output can also provide overlays including audio level, recording time remaining and drive status, and more.

Hyperdeck Studio HD Plus can also be used in a video file playback role, controlled from the front panel or by network. ProRes 4444 files with Alpha channel can be played as Key and Fill from the 2 6G-SDI output connectors. There is tight integration for playback when used with ATEM switchers.

Genlock Sync and Timecode can be provided to the Hyperdeck in Multicam environments, or choose to follow the input timing (for genlock) and time of day for timecode. If internally generated, this timecode is provided on the LTC Timecode output, so one unit can be used to provide timecode to the others if a master timecode device is not on site.

This well-rounded feature set provides a lot of flexibility in the field in a very portable size.
